Hardy Services are taking part in a number of fundraising events between June and September 2017 with an aim to raise as much money as possible for Pendleside Hospice.
We recently completed the 12K Total Warrior Challenge on 24th June. This was a great day for us all, everybody had barrels of fun and luckily no major injuries! However, some of us do feel like we’ve gone a few rounds with Mike Tyson!!!
In total there were 4922 runners who took part on the day and our team winner Jonathan Thompson (29) achieved 149th place, a great result for him! He said, “ It was an enjoyable event and a great atmosphere! I think next time I’ll get some trainers with a thicker sole – my feet are still in agony now! There is no ‘I’ in team, we were all winners!! ” Overall we came 38th in team standings.
Our Office Manager, Gemma Harper (26) had completed the Total Warrior course twice before. She said ” I felt it was much more challenging this year with more running and a number of new obstacles along the way but I loved every minute of it!! It’s all for a worthy cause and I think we did each other proud. No doubt I’ll be accepting the challenge again next year…” Our Operations Assistant, Sharney Catlow (25) added “ It was a great experience but probably the hardest thing I have ever done. It felt good to cross the finish line, Where’s that free pint?! Definitely be doing it again but I think more training is needed for next time! ”
